South Africans forced to braai all their meat because of load shedding
There were braais all over South Africa last weekend.
South Africans in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Limpopo, Mbombela, Port Elizabeth, and many other places all over the country had no choice but to have an emergency braai last weekend because of stage three load shedding.
People all over the country say they were afraid they would lose their meat if they left it in the freezer a second or minute more, because the was no electricity almost the entire day on Saturday and Saturday.
“We had to do it. We have to braai our meat. We didn’t have a choice. It’s not that we were celebrating anything. We were just afraid of losing our meat”, said Johan de Klerk, a local man who had to braai both his red meat and wors as a matter of urgency on Sunday afternoon.
It was reported that workers and leaners everywhere had meat and wors in their lunch boxes on Monday.
